I've heard that my personal information can be retrieved from an old phone. I'm afraid of identity theft, and don't want my information out there.
ALL Data is removed from the phones when we receive them. We utilize highly specialized equipment and processes to completely erase any personal and/or sensitive information from "smart phones," and to prevent the use of forensic software.
None. Zip. Nada.
There are however, some conditions. Please see our "Required Condition of Handsets" page.

SellyourCell.com is an established leader in the wireless recycling industry. We pay top dollar for used phones, and have one of the faster turn-around times, with regard to payment in the industry (some companies take as much as 60 days).
It happens. However, we ask that you look for the catch. Some companies require you to pay for shipping. Others state a high price only to tell you, after they've received your phone, that a little scratch or two decreases the value of your item by some ridiculous figure. Again, if a company's price seems way out of line to the high side, we suggest that you proceed with extreme caution. If something looks too good to be true, well, you know the story.
SellyourCell.com maintains an extensive database of phones we can accept. This database is reviewed frequently and updated as necessary. However, we are certainly capable of missing one every now and then. If you have a phone that is under a year old, and it doesn't show up on our buy list, please shoot us an email just to make sure we haven't simply neglected to add it.
If, however, the phone is more than 2 years old, is heavy enough to be used as a boat anchor, or looks like it might have been hand-built by Thomas Edison or Alexander Graham Bell, it's probably one that we simply cannot accept.

Of Course you may! If, for any reason, a phone fails to meet our Required Condition of Handsets guidelines, you will be promptly notified via email. This email will include instructions as to how you can reclaim your item. There is a 15 day window in which the return of an item may be requested, so please act quickly. We do require the customer to cover the cost of shipping items back.
We absolutely require the phone (imagine that), and its battery. We appreciate a charger, but it is not mandatory.
We are not able to pay extra for accessories such as car chargers, hands free sets, belt clips, leather holsters, etc…
Checks are issued within 30 days of our receipt of your item(s). Checks are sent via standard First Class Mail, which usually makes delivery within 5 mailing days. You will be notified via email when your check is processed, so that you can keep an eye out for it.
Hey, beauty isn't everything. We don't expect your phones to look brand new. As long as the phone is 100% functional, unbroken (if you can see through it, it's more than just a scratch), and otherwise within the specifications of our Required Condition of Handsets, we're happy to buy it.
As long as you follow the instructions, you have nothing to fear. Please refer to our "Required Condition of Handsets" and make sure that you are sending items that are indeed acceptable. It's actually pretty simple. As long as the items are 100% functional, unbroken, and models that we accept, there's no reason in the world to expect that you won't be paid.
That said, there ARE indeed operations out there who look a lot like us and who engage in behavior we'd consider unscrupulous. If you're shopping around, please make sure to read each company's terms and conditions or user agreement very carefully. We've found companies that will refuse to pay for a phone simply because you forgot to include it on the invoice. We'd also recommend exercising extreme caution if a company's offer prices seem way out of line. Remember, if something seems to good to be true, there's a good chance that it is.
